KV Mechelen has signed Malcolm Lohunanu-Mbasi. The 18-year-old central striker signs a contract for two seasons and thus returns to the club where his football story began. The deal has also been officially confirmed by KV Mechelen itself. Lohunanu-Mbasi wore the Malinwa shirt between 2018 and 2022, after which he continued his training at the OH Leuven youth academy. Now, the young attacker consciously chooses to return to Mechelen, with the ambition to further develop and eventually grow into the A-core. During the preparation for the new season, Mbasi will immediately join the first team, where he will have the chance to show himself to the technical staff. The question is whether he can get his chances quickly in the A-core. Possibly, a number of offensively oriented profiles will leave Mechelen and then it can be very interesting that a new strongholder has been attracted with Lohunanu-Mbasi. KV Mechelen has therefore acquired a new striker, who will hopefully score many goals for the club. The fans of KV Mechelen are looking forward to Lohunanu-Mbasi's debut. The transfer of Lohunanu-Mbasi to KV Mechelen is a good thing for the club, which now has a new attacker to start the season. KV Mechelen will have to see how it further develops with Lohunanu-Mbasi in the team. The club's technical staff will be keeping a close eye on the young striker's progress. Lohunanu-Mbasi's return to KV Mechelen is a positive development for the club, which is looking to strengthen its squad for the upcoming season.
