KV Mechelen is facing concrete interest in José Marsà, a 24-year-old central defender. Málaga CF has registered his name as a possible reinforcement for the defense. Marsà completed his training at FC Barcelona and wore the shirt for twelve years, including in the prestigious Youth League. Via Sporting CP, where he even played twice in the Champions League, he settled in the Segunda División. After a successful loan spell at Sporting Gijón, he was definitively taken over by FC Andorra. After one season in the Pyrenees, the Spanish youth international made the move to Belgium. Behind the Barracks, Marsà grew into a fixed value in the back: he has already played 74 times and was also a key player in the historic season in which KV Mechelen played in the Champions Play-offs for the first time. His market value is estimated by Transfermarkt at around €3.5 million. Málaga is, however, not the only interested party. 1. FC Köln from Germany and Trabzonspor from Turkey would also have Marsà on their radar. If Málaga were to make a concrete appearance, the Spanish second-class club would have a slight advantage. As a club from Laliga, it can offer the Spanish youth international a return to the Spanish top football, with the Costa del Sol as an extra trump card. KV Mechelen is currently 15 points behind leader Union St. Gilloise. The team is currently in 6th place in the Jupiler Pro League, with 24 points from 32 games. The last game saw KV Mechelen against Anderlecht, with the away game on 13 February 2027.
