KV Mechelen has bid farewell to former player Alexander Corryn, who has decided to retire after thirteen years in professional football. The 32-year-old left-back, who also played for Lokeren, Antwerp, and Cercle Brugge, reflects positively on his career. Corryn played his last match for VW Hamme in early May and is now set to work as a real estate agent. He began his career at Sporting Lokeren, joining the club as a ten-year-old. In 2012, he made his debut in the first team under Peter Maes. At Lokeren, he enjoyed highlights such as winning the Belgian Cup and participating in European football. After his time at Lokeren, he transferred to KV Mechelen, where he also found success. During the season when KV Mechelen played in 1B, the club won the Belgian Cup. Unfortunately, in recent years, Corryn faced multiple injuries, including several concussions and a serious cruciate ligament injury. Despite these setbacks, he looks back on his career with satisfaction. He has earned degrees in marketing and real estate and is ready for a new challenge as a real estate agent.
