Wouter Vrancken, the coach of KV Mechelen, has rejected two job offers and is looking for a new challenge. According to Het Laatste Nieuws, Vrancken has temporarily declined an offer from the Bulgarian top club Ludogorets. He has also not considered interest from Saudi Arabia. It remains to be seen if another club will be able to convince him. There were rumors about Feyenoord, where sports director Dévy Rigaux would see something in him. For now, there is no concrete approach from Rotterdam. Vrancken started his coaching career in the lower divisions and eventually became an assistant coach at KV Kortrijk. He was then taken away by KV Mechelen, which offered him a job as head coach. The rest is history. Vrancken delivered excellent work at KVM and won the Belgian Cup. Those successes earned him a first job at a top club: KRC Genk. He also delivered excellent work there initially. However, he was eventually thanked for his services. It seemed to be the start of a nice long-term project, but after a few months, the collaboration was already stopped. Vrancken then returned to the club where his professional career began: STVV. And that turned out to be a good move for both parties. In his first weeks, he led Sint-Truiden to the championship. The coach pressed his mark during the summer and that led to one of the most successful seasons in the club's history. So STVV finished the competition in a stiff third place and is definitely going to a European autumn next season. That European campaign will, however, have to be completed without Vrancken. The coach decided to look elsewhere for a new challenge. Several clubs have since passed the review, but for now, he has not bitten.
