KV Mechelen-linksback Zekri to undergo medical tests in Lisbon today

Earlier this week, we reported that the Portuguese top club had made a bid of around €3.5 million for Zekri. The clubs had to negotiate over a few points and commas, but today the 17-year-old Moroccan youth international is traveling to Lisbon for his medical tests. So the transfer of Zekri appears to be falling into place.

What's happening now?

Incoming is the transfer of Utrecht defender Mike Eerdhuijzen, which seems to be almost complete. Due to the absence of Leo Hjelde, Malinwa had to quickly find a replacement in the center of defense. The question is now whether Myron van Brederode will leave KV Mechelen this summer. Foreign clubs have already made themselves known, including Lyon and Marseille. The Dutchman wants to play in one of the top five competitions and Lyon and Marseille also play European football, but the French are not yet willing to pay what Mechelen demands. Malinwa dreams of €10 million, but it is clear that it will ultimately be a few million less. There was already a bid of €5 million, but that was too low and it came from a club that Van Brederode did not listen to.
